Uniform seed placement lays the foundation for reliable crop emergence. LEMKEN’s double-disc coulters reliably open the seed furrow, place the seed precisely and, together with the trailing depth control roller, ensure optimum soil contact. They can be used in almost all conditions and give the farmer complete freedom of choice when selecting a tillage method.

Precise placement on any surface
The parallelogram-guided double disc coulter reliably adapts to changing soil conditions and ensures uniform seed placement even at high driving speeds .
Independent and easy to adjust
Coulter pressure and seeding depth can be adjusted independently of one another. The discs are fitted with wear- and maintenance-free four-point bearings; the sealed bearing housing ensures that no dirt can penetrate. Straight coulter discs and the slim design also ensure a good flow of material and reduce the risk of blockages.
Evenly at the desired depth
The rubber-tyred depth-control roller keeps the coulter precisely at the set seeding depth. It then presses the seed into the soil, ensuring ideal soil contact. This improves water supply and promotes rapid, uniform crop emergence. The uncompacted intermediate zones reduce soil silting and erosion. Thanks to its special rubber compound, the tyre can perform targeted compaction, reliably loosening any soil clinging to it.
OptiDisc double disc coulters
OptiDisc is the name given to LEMKEN’s maintenance-free, parallelogram-guided double-disc coulter. The rubber swivel mount for the disc suspension, with its excellent damping and movement characteristics, is designed for long-term durability even in difficult conditions. In the standard configuration, the coulter pressure can be adjusted mechanically in several stages up to 45 kg. A hydraulic version (up to 70 kg coulter pressure) is also available as an option. With this version, the coulter pressure can be adjusted in 10 stages via the terminal or automatically using an application map.

Reconsolidation
Uniform reconsolidation creates the ideal conditions for seed placement. The trapezoidal roller, which runs ahead of the double-disc coulters, specifically consolidates the soil in the area of the future seed rows, but not the soil between the seed rows. In the prepared seedbed, the disc coulters can open the seed furrow precisely and without obstruction. The interaction between the trapezoidal roller, the coulter system and the depth control roller promotes uniform crop emergence whilst reducing the risk of soil compaction and erosion.
