Versatile & essential

The rollers on a unit play a varied role in terms of stubble cultivation and seedbed preparation as well as with conventional cultivation methods and mulch seeding. They are used to crumble, reconsolidate and level various soils. LEMKEN offers an extensive roller range with a model to suit every situation.

LEMKEN rollers control the equipment precisely at the required depth and are equipped with a reliable support bearing. They are resistant to stones and sticking of soil and they cope with light, medium and heavy soil.

Simple and inexpensive: cage rollers

Cage rollers are available with 400 mm, 540 mm and 600 mm diameters. They represent a simple and inexpensive option for controlling the depth of implements and reconsolidating the soil.

  • Reconsolidation is conducted in strips transverse to the direction of travel.
  • The small diameter rollers combine excellent cultivation with low weight.
  • As the diameter increases the load carrying capacity and reconsolidation improves. This means that rollers with the appropriate diameters can also be used in cultivation combinations on light soil.
  • The 400 mm cage rollers can also be used for depth control of front mounted implements

Light and safe to use: double rollers

Double rollers consist of two rollers with diameters of 400 mm each or one roller with a diameter of 540 mm and one with a diameter of 400 mm.

  • The rollers are suspended on a pendulum system to ensure uniform weight distribution on undulating soil. They also ensure that the soil cultivation implement has accurate depth guidance.
  • The excellent tilling, levelling and reconsolidation create the best conditions for use in a minimum tillage system.
  • Depending on the soil conditions, the double rollers are available as flat, tubular or cage roller combinations for lighter soil conditions.
  • The use of a cage roller with a diameter of 540 mm in the double rollers significantly improves their load-carrying capacity and drive, in particular, on light soil and for heavy implements.

Other rollers

Other rollers with the Karat

The knife rollers are made up of rings set 125 mm apart.

Located between the rings, the knives ensure that the rollers are cleaned well and they also boost the reconsolidation effect.

The rollers operate on a strip basis; they are not susceptible to sticking or clogging and therefore they are particularly well-suited for heavy soil and for mulch sowing.

  • Diameter of roller (apprx.): 600 mm
  • Weight at 3 m width (apprx.): 515 kg
  • Characteristics: Good crumbling and cleaning via knifes between the rings, especially suitable for mulch seeding, insensitive to sticking
Following roller MSW 600

The reduced rolling effect, of the flexible steel sections, makes the flex ring roller especially suitable for wet heavy soils, which tend to be sticky. The weight of the roller is ideally suited to mounted machines.

  • Diameter of roller (approx.): 540 mm
  • Weight at 3 m width (approx.): 387 kg
  • Characteristics: insensitive to sticking and insensitive to stones (optimal weight), suitable for wet heavy soils.
Following roller FRW 540

The dual-profile ring rollers have a diameter of 540 mm and they excel on account of their high load-carrying capacity on light and medium soil.

They are excellent at levelling the soil while also reconsolidating close to the surface.

Dual-profile ring rollers are also ideally suited for the mulch sowing method.

  • Diameter of rollers (apprx.): 540/540 mm
  • Weight at 3 m width (apprx.): 467 kg
  • Characteristics: Good levelling, especially good carrying capacity, consistent smooth running, for light and medium soils, good reconsolidation of the surface, suitable for mulch seeding
Following roller DPW 540

When cultivating down to a depth of 30 cm the soil is intensively loosened and needs good reconsolidation throughout the cultivation depth.

The packer profile roller for the semimounted Karat is specifically designed for these conditions.

The front roller with its packer profile consolidates the soil at depth, while the rear roller with its W-profile provides surface consolidation.

  • Diameter of rollers (apprx.): 600/540 mm
  • Weight at 3 m width (apprx.): 984 kg
  • Characteristics: optimum reconsolidation effect of top soil and subsoil, easy to pull
Following roller PPW 600 540

The packer double roller has two rows of rings designed to consolidate the soil at depth and is ideally suited for use with a semi-mounted Karat. The rings leave soil ridges, allowing a weathering process on heavy clay soils.

The enlarged soil surface enables the wet soil to dry off more quickly.

  • Diameter of rollers (apprx.): 600/600 mm
  • Weight at 3 m width (apprx.): 984 kg
  • Characteristics: optimum reconsolidation effect of top soil and subsoil, easy to pull, quick drying of wet soils due to extended soil surface.

  • Weight at 3 m width: approx. 65 kg
  • Properties: additional levelling of the soil surface, root weeds are transported to the soil surface to dry out

Precise and unsusceptible: trapezoidal rollers

Characteristic of the trapezoidal rollers is the reconsolidation of the soil in strips by the trapezoidal rings, which operate exactly at the distance of the following drill rows. The soil retains a rough surface with a great deal of fine soil and is therefore less inclined to sludging or capping.

  • The trapezoidal rollers are available as trapezoidal packer rollers, trapezoidal ring rollers and trapezoidal disc rollers.
  • Because of their enclosed roller core, the trapezoidal packer rollers are less inclined to clogging and the central tube restricts the rollers from sinking too far in to the soil.
  • The trapezoidal ring rollers have an excellent load-carrying capacity on light to medium soil with low weight.
  • With the trapezoidal disc rollers, the trapezoidal ring consists of plastic rings with plastic scrapers. The overall weight of the rollers is low and the low internal diameter reduces consolidation of the soil between the rows.
  • All closed trapeze rollers are distinguished by a good load-bearing capacity on medium and heavy soils and to a large extent prevent soil from sticking to the rollers.

Toothed packer rollers are available with a diameter of 550 mm.

The shape of the toothed packer rollers ensures that reconsolidation is achieved across the entire area. Good scrapers make the toothed packer rollers ideal on medium and heavy soils, even when wet.

The hardened scrapers are attached to brackets, can be easily adjusted and they ensure optimum cleaning of the rollers is achieved. Additional hard facing or hard metal plates guarantee maximum service lives.

The toothed packer rollers can be universally used in heavy-duty cultivation combinations.
