The Solitair MF at a glance

Proven, effective preparation
A well-prepared seedbed is essential for even field emergence. Different types of soil place different demands on production processes. The Zirkon 12 power harrow is the perfect partner for the Solitair MF, on which the pneumatic seed drill can be mounted.
The active tools of the LEMKEN Zirkon power harrow prepare an optimal seedbed in virtually all soil conditions. They create an intensive mixing and crumbling effect up to a working depth of approx. 15 cm. Mounting the seed drill on the power harrow headstock optimises weight distribution and positions the centre of gravity as close as possible to the rear axle of the tractor. For example, the optional trapezoidal packer roller contributes to smooth operation of the seeding coulters and precise depth control of the coulter bar. This ensures that the most important requirement is met: improved seed-to-soil contact.

Everything on board
The tank
The Solitair MF pneumatic seed drill features a 2,000 litre seed hopper, which is suitable for fertiliser even in its basic configuration. It is also available as a double tank with a 60:40 split, making it particularly versatile. The large tank opening with a roller tarp cover allows fast filling directly from a BigBag or via a filling auger

The large tank opening with a roller tarp cover allows fast filling directly from a BigBag or via a filling augerAdding the Solitair F front tank (1,900 or 2,400 litres) further increases the available tank volume. This combination allows up to three different components to be applied.

Easy calibration testing
The calibration test can be conveniently run centrally on the machine using the calibration terminal or tractor terminal. Using the LEMKEN iQblue Go app on a mobile phone or tablet makes the process even easier. The seed required for calibration testing is collected in a calibration tray that can be easily pulled out from the centre of the implement.

Seed emptying function
After sowing, residual seed can be easily removed from the seed hopper via the outlet. Alternatively, smaller residual quantities can be emptied via the implement control using the metering function.

Everything for precise sowing
The electric metering system
The basic version of the Solitair MF comes with two electrically operated metering units, each of which supplies one distributor with seed. As a result, width section or half side control is supported even in the basic version. The pneumatic seed drill is optionally available with automatic width section control. The Solitair MF/600 is also available with four distributor heads as an option, allowing up to four width sections to be switched.

The corrosion-resistant and fertiliser-compatible metering unit is easily accessible from the outside. A toolfree seed wheel change ensures quick adaptation to different seeds. Thanks to the shut-off gate, this can even be done when the seed hopper is full. The seeding rate can be conveniently adjusted from 0.5–500 kg/ha from the cab. The metering units receive the speed signal from the tractor (TECU). The optional radar sensor provides highly precise speed detection.

Metering system and distributor
While one distributor and one metering system per tank section is sufficient for standard sowing methods, each of the two sections of the tank is equipped with two distributors and associated metering systems in the single-shot and double-shot version. These are driven independently of each other by an electric motor each.

Single Shot
In combination with the Solitair F front tank, the single-shot method allows up to three different components to be applied via a single seeding coulter in the OptiDisc coulter bar. This is particularly useful when fertilising and drilling at the same time.

When sowing catch crop mixtures with large differences in grain size distribution, it is advisable to meter the larger components separately from the smaller components and mix them only just ahead of the distributor. This prevents the seeds from separating in the seed hopper so that nothing stands in the way of even seed distribution.

Double shot
The double-shot method offers great flexibility in terms of seed placement. One option is to apply two components via a seeding coulter with two seed tubes. Alternatively, the two components can be applied via separate seeding coulters. This only requires the distributor cartridges to be exchanged. With this set-up, only every other row is supplied with the relevant component. The various components can then be placed at different depths.

Other filing procedures

High-precision placement
The seed distributors
The seed distributors are located directly above the coulter bar. The seed tubes running from the distributor to the coulter are as short as possible to ensure precise seed distribution. The continuous angle of the seed tubes prevents blockages, and the distributor can be easily opened for inspection.

The OptiDisc coulter bar
The Solitair MF is equipped with the maintenance-free OptiDisc coulter bar, which features the parallelogram-guided, mechanically adjustable OptiDisc M coulters with up to 45 kg coulter pressure in the basic version. The row spacing is 12.5 cm or 15 cm.
The seeding depth is set using a screw on the left-hand side of the machine. The independent adjustment of the seeding depth and coulter pressure ensures precise seed placement, especially with changeable soils and at high ground speeds. Seeds are pressed into the soil by the depth control roller to ensure even, rapid field emergence.

The tramline mechanism
The distributor heads are positioned directly above the coulter bar to ensure excellent transverse distribution. An integrated hydraulic tramline mechanism is optionally available for the OptiDisc. The distribution of the seed tubes in tramline mode ensures that no seed return is required. The seed rate is automatically reduced when the tramline is switched. The easy exchange of the distributor cartridges enables quick adaptation to a wide variety of tramline systems. This increases flexibility – especially when working across farms.
The sensors for the optional seed tube monitoring, which support tramline or width section monitoring, are integrated into the seed tubes behind the distributors. If the seed flow is irregular or interrupted, the driver receives an acoustic alert.

For more comfort and flexibility
From machine control to data collection and processing, LEMKEN iQblue guarantees ease of use. iQblue digital solutions make your field work more efficient and speed up your office work. This gives you more time to do the important work.
Thinking economically
The Solitair MF works with the ISOBUS-based iQblue drill operating concept. You can save on farm input costs by adjusting the seed rate by width section with the MultiBoom function. This option supports automatic, separate width section control for up to three components. This prevents overlaps. It is also possible to process three application maps in parallel so that seed and fertiliser are only applied where the field conditions are expected to produce a profitable yield.
For more flexibility, the Solitair MF can also be controlled via the additional operating terminal in the metering area. This can be used to start and complete the calibration test, for example, or to drain residue from the tank.

Using mobile devices
The LEMKEN iQblue Go app brings control of the Solitair MF with a host of features to your mobile device of choice. It allows the calibration test or the draining of residue to be started from a smartphone or tablet, for example. Current seed or fertiliser level data is displayed on the app, so that any farm inputs that are low in supply can be delivered to the field in good time and replenished without downtime.
With the app, tramline tables are a thing of the past. The app’s integrated tramline configurator allows you to create your tramline profiles on your mobile device or desktop PC and transfer them digitally to the Solitair MF.

Numerous possibilities
Harrow
For good levelling and seed coverage, the levelling harrow and the single harrow, which can be adjusted without tools, perfectly complement the double disc coulters. The S levelling harrow is adjusted via a pin, which allows the harrow height and harrow pressure to be adjusted independently of each other. The harrow can additionally be fitted with hydraulic lifting to facilitate transport and precision cultivation. The single harrow, which is also adjustable, reliably covers two seed rows and thus adapts to a wide range of conditions.

Comfort on the road
Thanks to the automatic transport support wheel, nothing stands in the way of safe road transport of a Solitair MF/600 seed drill. The smaller series can also be fitted with the transport support wheel as an option. The transport support wheel is actuated automatically when the coulter bar is folded in and out. As a result, weight is transferred from the coulter bar to the support wheel during road transport.

„We have been sowing with a 4-metre unit for around 20 years to make optimum use of the short autumn time window for sowing. The Solitair MF with the optional transport wheel offers the advantages of a semi-mounted machine on the road and the manoeuvrability of a mounted machine in the field, which is essential for our local conditions.“
