It is specifically designed to ensure precise, resource-efficient seed placement, even in short timeframes. This makes it the ideal partner for demanding farming operations.
Component overview.
More volume for more performance.
With hopper sizes of 900, 1,200, and 1,500 litres the Saphir XMR delivers long working intervals and reduces downtime during refilling. The innovative semi-mounted design ensures optimal weight distribution and noticeably reduces the load on the tractor’s front axle. This combines maximum hopper capacity with safe handling and maximum efficiency in the field.
Convenient loading
The large-capacity hopper with a secure lid makes loading particularly convenient. Whether using big bags or a front loader, you can load the machine quickly and safely to maximise your valuable time in the field.
Hopper screen
The top-mounted hopper screen reliably protects the Saphir XMR’s metering system from foreign objects. This prevents disruptions in the seed flow and ensures consistently precise application under all conditions.
Semi-mounted design
Thanks to its semi-mounted design, the Saphir XMR can be lifted and swivelled forward simultaneously using hydraulic cylinders. This reduces the front axle load and ensures stable weight distribution.
MultiHub
The MultiHub adds a 200-litre auxiliary hopper to the Saphir XMR for applying microgranules or cover crops. Seed placement is flexible via double-shot at the coulter or via baffle plates.
Precise metering, effortless handling.
The Saphir XMR’s metering and drive system delivers accurate seed application with maximum ease of maintenance. Thanks to its modular design, tool-free tramline configuration, and a flexible shutter system, the machine can be quickly adapted to a wide variety of seeds and different tramline patterns.
Electric drive
The electric drive with electronic half-side switch ensures precise seed placement without overlap. Site-specific seeding is also possible.
Calibration test
The calibration test is performed from the left side of the machine and, depending on the equipment, can be controlled via a terminal in the cab, an external control element on the side of the machine, or the iQblue go app.
Dosing wheel
The functional dosing wheel housing is made out of robust, low-wear plastic. The shut-off gate and bottom gates can be adjusted quickly and easily, without requiring tools. The metering units are clipped directly onto the hopper and are easily accessible. Cleaning and maintenance are particularly convenient.
Easy to change
Each metering wheel can be removed individually and without tools, allowing easy switching between different seed types.
Precise metering for every crop
Not all crops are the same – each requires specialised technology. The Saphir XMR uses different two-part seed wheels that are precisely matched to the respective seed size. The large seed wheel section continuously feeds large seeds into the seed tubes. The cam wheel on the side meters out very small seeds such as rapeseed, precisely and consistently. The seed wheels can be easily activated and deactivated.
Precise placement for optimal crop emergence.
To ensure precise seed placement and perfect crop emergence under all conditions, the Saphir XMR features a parallelogram-guided double-disc coulter with a pressure roller. This ensures uniform seed placement even on varying soil types and at high travel speeds.
Quick depth adjustment
The planting depth is adjusted centrally on the left side in the direction of travel using a crank. Adjusting the spindle changes the position of the pressure roller relative to the double-disc coulter – ensuring precise seed placement even on varying soil types.
Easy adjustment of coulter pressure
Coulter pressure can be conveniently adjusted to adapt the machine to varying soil conditions. Coulter pressure and seeding depth are set separately.
Maintenance-free bearings
The internal maintenance-free bearings reliably protect the components and ensure proper clearance even in difficult soil conditions.
Clean coulter blades in all conditions
Plastic inner scrapers or optional carbide inner scrapers ensure a reliable flow of material through the double-disc coulter and reduce soil buildup – especially under difficult operating conditions.
Optional equipment
Seed harrow S
The seed harrow S ensures reliable seed coverage and levelling. Harrow pressure and height are adjustable without tools. An optional hydraulic lift enhances convenience for transport and working in sections.
Single harrow
The tool-free adjustable single harrow with harrow tines reliably covers two seed rows. It can be flexibly adapted to different soil and operating conditions.
Pre-emergence marking
The pre-emergence marking is synchronised with the tramline control. The discs create a clearly visible track even in heavy soils or during mulch seeding.
Second hopper sensor
The optional second hopper sensor on the Saphir XMR enables reliable fill level monitoring on both sides of the hopper. This alerts the driver early when the fill level is low. The sensor height can be adjusted depending on the seed type.
Seamlessly connected. Efficient operations.
The Saphir XMR is more than just a seed drill – it is part of a intelligent, connected system. Its modern ISOBUS technology and digital interfaces make data management simple, transparent, and efficient.

„The Saphir XMR impresses me most with its precise placement – the seeding wheel and double-disc coulter really play a key role there. And we can finally use a large roller on the rotary harrow on our sandy soils.“
Farm owner, pig farming and arable farming (Hamminkeln)
At Michael Overkämping’s pig-fattening farm in Hamminkeln, which includes about 115 hectares of cropland, precise seed placement is crucial – especially when growing specialty crops. When growing spinach, the fine seeds must be placed evenly at a depth of 1.5 to 2 centimetres so that the crop emerges uniformly and can be harvested with minimal loss later on. The LEMKEKN Saphir XMR impresses with highly uniform seed placement, both in depth and along the row. Even cover crop mixtures with different seed sizes are reliably distributed evenly.
Michael Overkämping highlights the quick seed wheel change, the precisely guided double-disc coulter, and how easy it is to operate. The ability to combine the 600-series roller with the rotary harrow offers clear advantages on sandy soils: It does not clog, runs without slipping, and does not push soil up. For Overkämping, the Saphir XMR is the reliable solution for precise field emergence and strong crop performance.
