Seed drill Solitair PT

The Solitair PT is a powerful and practical drill combination with power harrow that sets new standards in sowing. Designed for farmers and contractors who want to work economically and efficiently in a wide range of soil conditions, this machine impresses with its precision, comfort and perfect seedbed preparation.

The advantages of Solitair PT

  • Optimal seedbed preparation with a power harrow
  • Tank variants for every requirement
  • Proven precision with OptiDisc coulter bar

Leading implements

Tractor wheelmark eradicator

Wheelmark eradicators with automatic overload protection ensure that the tractor tracks are sufficiently loosened before seedbed preparation, even in the most challenging conditions.

Wheelmark eradicator discs

The wheelmark eradicator discs can be optimally adjusted to the tyre width and penetration depth, regardless of the working depth of the Zirkon power harrow. The iQblue drill control system with integrated headland management takes care of the raising and lowering processes at the headland.

Tyre packer roller

A leading tyre packer roller is ideal for crumbling and levelling the seedbed and for reconsolidation ahead of the power harrow. This roller can be optionally configured for use with twin tyres on the tractor.

Soil with good structure

The Solitair PT with the Zirkon power harrow is optimally suited for high-efficacy sowing even in the most challenging conditions. It is therefore ideal for both conventional and conservation tillage methods. Active tillage tools are particularly advantageous in variable soil conditions.

The desired result of seedbed preparation is directly affected by the working depth, rotor speed, tine position and forward speed. The Solitair PT can deliver all tillage options – fast, shallow and extensive or deep and intensive – in a single pass, together with sowing.

The range of power harrow tines is tailored to a wide variety of requirements, including different soil types or arable farming methods:

  • standard tines,
  • tines with hard facing or
  • carbide tines for maximum service life

Regardless of whether the bolted version or the optional quick-change system is fitted, the tines are easy to change. The power harrow tines can additionally be mounted in the grip or drag position.

Your partner for every challenge

However, the core of the Zirkon power harrow is its tried-and-tested gear case, which is designed as a thick-walled compact unit made of micro-alloyed high-quality steel with welded bearing points. The tray and the top section are welded together. LEMKEN’s design, which features four tine carriers per metre of working width, ensures optimal soil crumbling. The special arrangement of the tines ensures good soil flow at all times.

To make it easier to adapt the power harrow to the working conditions in the field, it now comes fitted with an infinitely variable hydraulic depth adjustment as standard.

The levelling bar for regulating the soil flow can be adjusted either mechanically or hydraulically. This ensures consistently good results even in variable soil conditions.

Everything on board

The Solitair PT is all about performance and efficiency. That’s why it is equipped with large-volume metal tanks: The tank’s capacity and layout must be matched so that the correct quantities of different components can be stored.

The Solitair PT comes with a 4,400 litre single tank as standard, which can be optionally replaced by a 5,100 litre double tank. Both versions can be extended with the 500 litre MulitHub, allowing up to three components to be applied.

It’s all in the metering

Even the basic version of the Solitair PT comes with four fertiliser- proof metering units per tank or half tank respectively, each of which supplies one distributor with seed – a prerequisite for manual width section control, which can also be controlled automatically via Section Control as an option.

LEMKEN’s modular metering system is based on a seed wheel and bottom flap system. This makes the corrosion-resistant metering system easily accessible, whether for calibration testing, adjustment or cleaning.

To prevent blockages, an agitator shaft is also fully integrated into the metering system. However, if fertiliser residue or seed deposits do accumulate, the entire metering unit can be dismantled without tools.

Ready for every type of seed

The size and weight of the seeds of different crop species and of different types of fertiliser can vary greatly. Standard and fine seed wheels are therefore available for the various crops. To change the seed wheel, the seed wheel area can be easily separated from the seed hopper using a slider. This makes it easy to replace or clean the seed wheel even when the seed hopper is full. The coloured marking on the handle clearly identifies which seed wheel is fitted.

The bed for your seed

In the first step, the Zirkon power harrow ensures that the soil has the right structure. The next step is crucial for ensuring that the seeds are placed perfectly: even reconsolidation across the entire seed horizon

Tyre packer roller

The generously dimensioned tyre packer roller with a 90 cm diameter ensures even levelling and reconsolidation of the soil across the entire seed horizon. The individual wheels of the tyre packer roller are staggered so that the Solitair PT drill combination can even be used in difficult soil conditions.

This results in a self-cleaning effect that reduces the tractive power requirement, and thus fuel consumption, in damp conditions. Secondly, this wheel arrangement prevents the bumps that can be created when a continuous roller is used in light soil conditions.

Harrow

An optional harrow, positioned between the tyre packer roller and the seeding coulters, provides additional support for levelling. This ensures that any unevenness that is created between the individual tyres is removed. To achieve this, a harrow is positioned between every two tyres.

Plastic trapezoidal roller

The Solitair PT can be fitted with a plastic trapezoidal roller for well-defined row pre-consolidation.

This roller ensures excellent reconsolidation and therefore the most important result: improved seed-to-soil contact. The roller pressure can be continuously adjusted from the tractor terminal.

Perfect placement

LEMKEN provides two options for seed placement on the Solitair PT. Either the OptiDisc H coulter bar (70 kg coulter pressure) or the OptiDisc M coulter bar (45 kg coulter pressure) can be directly coupled.

Seed placement

Seed is placed in the following step at a row spacing of either 12.5 cm or 16.7 cm. Both coulter pressure and drilling depth can be adjusted independently of each other and do not influence each other during adjustment. This ensures that seed is always placed at exactly the same depth, even at high forward speeds and in changing soils.

Tramlines for crop maintenance

An integrated hydraulic tramline mechanism is optionally available for the OptiDisc coulter bar. The symmetrical distribution of the seed tubes ensures absolutely even transverse distribution even in tramline mode. The seed rate is automatically reduced when the tramline is activated.

The distributor cartridges can be easily and quickly changed to adapt the machine to different tramline systems, which significantly increases its flexibility – especially when used on different sites.

Optimal results with OptiDiscc

When combined with the maintenance-free OptiDisc coulter bar, the Solitair PT uses the tried-and-tested parallelogram-guided double disc coulters with trailing depth control rollers.

The four distributor heads are positioned directly above the coulter bar, ensuring excellent transverse seed distribution. The single-shot method allows up to three different components to be applied via a single seeding coulter in the OptiDisc coulter bar. This is particularly useful when fertilising and drilling at the same time.

When sowing catch crop mixtures with large differences in grain size distribution, it is advisable to meter the larger components separately from the smaller components and mix them only just ahead of the distributor. This prevents the seeds from separating in the seed hopper so that nothing stands in the way of uniform seed distribution.

Smart & mobil

iQblue drill is the ISOBUS-based control concept for the Solitair PT. Thanks to the uniform LEMKEN design, drivers can quickly find their way around. The system is controlled either via a LEMKEN CCI terminal or any universal ISOBUS terminal.

Separate width section control

The Multiboom function can be used to automate the control of separate width sections for fertiliser and seed. This prevents any overlapping. It is also possible to process two application maps in parallel so that seed and fertiliser are only applied where they can be used efficiently.

Let’s go: iQblue go app

The iQblue go app is optionally available for Android and iOS devices. It establishes a wireless connection to the Solitair PT, enabling convenient handling during calibration testing or residue drainage, for example.

The integrated machine overview displays information on a range of parameters, including working speed and the current application rate. However, it also provides access to machine data, such as the total application rate and the number of hectares worked, and allows the error memory to be read out – from any location.

Adapted to individual conditions

Long drawbar

The Solitair PT features a long drawbar for maximum manoeuvrability when working with wide rear wheels or twin tyres. This allows a steering angle of up to 90 degrees, even with a maximum outside tractor width of 4 m.

Hydraulic fan

The speed of the hydraulically driven fan is infinitely variable and is achieved even at low tractor engine speeds. The oil requirement is only 30 l/min. Variations in the tractor engine speed do not affect the speed of the fan to ensure the consistent, even delivery of seeds.

Tank drainage

The tank is conveniently drained via an outlet on the side of the machine.

Hydraulic track markers

The hydraulic track markers are centrally located and always in the driver’s field of vision. The hydraulic overload protection ensures maximum working comfort, even in difficult conditions.

Harrow

For good levelling and seed coverage, the levelling harrow and the single harrow, which can be adjusted without tools, perfectly complement the double disc coulters.

  • The S levelling harrow is adjusted via a pin, which allows the harrow height and harrow pressure to be adjusted independently of each other.
  • The harrow can additionally be fitted with hydraulic lifting to facilitate transport and precision cultivation.
  • The single harrow reliably covers two seed rows and therefore adapts to a wide range of conditions.

Pre-emergence marker

The Solitair PT is optionally available with a pre-emergence marker to mark the tramline as it is created. This marker is automatically lowered when a tramline is created.

Always on track

A giant in the field, safe and agile on the road. The centre wheels of the Solitair PT chassis operate without hydraulic counter-pressure to ensure that the permissible axle loads are not exceeded. This ensures stable driving behaviour in all road conditions and at speeds of up to 40 km/h.
