At LEMKEN India, environmental responsibility is a core value. We continuously implement initiatives to make our plant operations more eco-friendly, from renewable energy use to green landscaping. Our efforts reflect a strong commitment to sustainability and a cleaner future.
Sustainable Energy
At our LEMKEN India facility in Nagpur, we are committed to sustainability and responsible manufacturing. In line with our global efforts to reduce our environmental footprint, we installed a 477 kWp solar power plant in 2022.
Since its commissioning, the solar installation has generated an impressive 1,665,823 kWh of clean energy as of March 2025. This initiative plays a key role in our energy strategy, supporting our shift towards renewable sources.
In 2024 alone, solar power contributed to 29.2% of the total electricity demand at the site — significantly reducing our dependence on conventional energy sources and reinforcing our dedication to sustainable operations.
Green Factory
As part of our commitment to sustainability, LEMKEN India has developed and maintains a lush green area spanning 5,500 sq. metres within the Nagpur plant. This space features a diverse range of trees and plants, enhancing both the environmental quality and visual appeal of our premises.
Over 100 trees have been planted across the facility and its surroundings, complemented by an additional 120 potted plants to maintain ecological balance. A drip irrigation system ensures year-round nourishment, especially for the pot culture plants. This green initiative not only promotes a healthier work environment but also contributes to the factory’s overall aesthetics.
