Innovative precision drill

Precision drill Azurit 10

One concept – many advantages:

Precision seeding with the DeltaRow

The Azurit 10 features the innovative precision seeding technology in the DeltaRow method. The optimised space distribution of the plants ensures a better use of resources and thus leads to higher yields.

The advantages of the precision drill at a glance:

  • Optimal utilisation of under-root fertiliser
  • More nutrients, water and light for each plant
  • Rapid soil cover during juvenile development
  • Plant spacing helps prevent erosion
  • Greater weed suppression capacity in juvenile development
  • Better root growth and biomass development

The Azurit 10 precision seeder is suitable for sowing sunflowers, soybeans, and maize.

Quickly explained

DeltaRow

The DeltaRow consists of two staggered twin rows, which increases the space for each plant by 70%. Find out what advantages this offers for your yield in terms of arable farming.

Tramlines can be created for wide tyres, e.g. in maize with a constant number of plants, so that - especially in regions with high livestock numbers - it is possible to apply fertiliser to the crop with tyres that protect the soil.

The DeltaRow concept allows up to 8% more yield due to optimised plant growth.

The central fertiliser placement ensures an optimal supply of nutrients to the plants.

The one-year trial was set up in Borken (North Rhine-Westphalia) in spring 2020. On maize plots measuring 6 x 170 metres, the effects of the two sowing methods (single row and DeltaRow seeding) on different parameters were studied in 5 replicates and with seed rates of 7, 8 and 9 grains per square metre. Tillage, variety, sowing and harvesting time were identical in all variants. The yield per hectare could be increased by up to 4.5%.

Azurit in a practical trial

In a practical trial in cooperation with the OsnabrĂŒck University of Applied Sciences, the DeltaRow method showed its advantages over a conventional single-row sowing system, which was set up with a competitor's machine. This concerns the yield, the net energy lactation (NEL), the convertible energy (ME) and the gas yield.

Testimonials

For contractors, in addition to the high output and large capacity of a maize seeder, the ability to use it on a wide variety of surfaces (e.g. sandy or stony soils) is of great importance.

The contractor in the Mittelweser region cultivates up to 600 ha per year with the Azurit

Experience report by Sebastiano Mellano from the province of Canavese, Italy. A wide variety of crops are grown there for biogas production.

Pietro Bosia runs a farm in the province of Pavia, growing mainly maize for animal feed and biogas production.

Thomas Dangel runs a 100-hectare farm in southern Alsace. With his Azurit, he mainly sows grain maize - harvesting later is not a problem.

Azurit 10 in detail

Technology

The use of farmyard manure is a very topical and important issue, particularly in regions with high livestock production. The Azurit is also available with a tramline mechanism, which is an essential prerequisite for spreading farmyard manure optimally on crops using tyres that help preserve the soil. The desired stocking density is maintained even with tramlines.

+

Central seed hopper

  • Central hopper with a capacity of 600l
  • The hopper is easily accessible from broad, safe steps and access grilles
  • Easy, centralised draining of seed residue via a start button directly on the seed hopper
+

Seed on Demand

  • Each singling unit holds only small volumes of seeds
  • Seeds are conveyed to the air stream and on to each singling unit via an auger metering system
  • Automated, sensor-controlled seed supply from the central hopper
+

Control unit

  • MegaSeed is the new ISOBUS-based operating concept for the Azurit 9 single-seed drill in standard LEMKEN design
  • New features like the layout manager and the new diagnostic concept
  • The LEMKEN MegaSeed control gives control via other ISOBUS-compatible SectionControl applications

Supply with fertiliser

Azurit in combination with front tank, Solitair 25 or Compact-Solitair

  • The Azurit can be used with a fron tank as well as in combination with the LEMKEN Solitair 25 and the Compact-Solitair
  • Fertiliser is conveyed to the fertiliser coulters via hoses
+

Seeding unit

The process steps of the Azurit take place in the seeding unit:

  • Residue wheels remove rocks, clumps and harvest residue
  • Fertiliser coulter deposits the fertiliser band centrally underneath the DeltaRow
  • Closing the fertiliser band by the trapeze packer roller
  • Placing seed precisely by the double disc coulters
  • Two V rollers cover the seeds with soil
+

Seed residue drainage

  • Comfortable draining of residue in the singling units
  • Seed changes can be made quickly in a few easy steps
+

Precise seed singling

  • Seeds are singled by two perforated discs offset against each other by half a hole spacing
  • The fixed connection between the two sowing discs ensures synchronicity within each DeltaRow
  • Each singling unit is driven by a separate electric motor for each sub-row of the DeltaRow
+

Clearing

  • Row cleaners remove stones, clods and harvest residue from the seed furrows. Their height can be adjusted quickly via a perforated grid, or they can be removed altogether if required.
+

Fertilising

  • The fertiliser coulter (up to 250 kg coulter pressure) places a band of fertiliser underneath the DeltaRow centrally between the two twin rows..
+

Reconsolidating

  • The trapeze packer roller covers the fertiliser band and at the same time ensures that the seed horizon is reconsolidated. This supports the rise of water through the capillaries and therefore ensures speedy, even emergence of the plants.
+

Drilling

  • Two double disc coulters place the seeds precisely on the reconsolidated seed horizon in a DeltaRow arrangement. Once seeds have exited the seeding shafts, guide wheels ensure that they remain precisely at the desired position in the seed horizon.
+

Pressing

  • Different versions of furrow closers ensure that the seeds are covered with soil and pressed into place.
+

Seed emptying function

  • Comfortable draining of residue in the singling units
  • Seed changes can be made quickly in a few easy steps
+

Precise seed singling

  • Seeds are singled by two perforated discs offset against each other by half a hole spacing
  • The fixed connection between the two sowing discs ensures synchronicity within each DeltaRow
  • Each singling unit is driven by a separate electric motor for each sub-row of the DeltaRow

More fertiliser efficiency in precision planting

MicroHub 5

The Azurit can be equipped with the micro-granulate unit "MicroHub 5" - a spreading device that allows micro-granulates to be spread in the immediate proximity of the seed. Due to stricter fertiliser regulations and growing economic pressure, the issue of fertiliser efficiency is becoming more and more significant.

  • Water-soluble nutrients are available to seedlings very quickly
  • Particularly good crop emergence, especially in cold and dry springs
  • With a relatively small amount of microgranulate, the first crop requirement can be well covered.
  • Available as an option for all Azurit models up to 8 rows
  • Hopper capacity of 200 litres
  • Flow rate from 1 to 40 kg/hectare
  • Electrically driven dosing unit
  • Pneumatic transport of the microgranules to the seed rows
  • Controlled by the same terminal as the Azurit (ISOBUS)

The MicroHub 5 can also be retrofitted to the Azurit 9 (depending on the year of manufacture).

Easy and flexible for soil-protecting cultivation
